Welcome to York AngSoc!

Welcome to the York Anglican Society!  AngSoc is a group who meet together to enjoy fellowship and to explore what it is to be part of the Church of England and the wider Anglican Communion. We welcome everyone who has an interest in knowing a bit more about the Anglican faith - our members come from a wide range of Christian and non-Christian traditions and backgrounds. We meet together every Wednesday at the Anglican Chaplaincy at 7:30pm (see map below). Most meetings will involve a discussion on a topic surrounding Anglicanism, or looking at something in an Anglican light, usually led by a speaker who is knowledgeable in that field. Before each meeting we usually say Evening Prayer together at 6.45pm.  We also run trips to the Minster and other churches for special services, carols at Christmas, and even the odd weekend away.  We pride ourselves on our strong links with other faith societies on campus, and strive for ever greater inter-faith discourse and understanding.

We hope that you can come and enjoy thoughtful discussion, challenging discourse, and of course socialising with other interested and interesting people. In the meantime you can like our Facebook page
, follow us on Twitter or have a browse of the events page to see what's going on this term.

"May God give to you and to all those you love
His comfort and His peace,
His light and his joy,
In this world and the next."
